Many of our past successful events could not have been accomplished without the involvement of community members like you. Generally, we are looking for an appropriately-sized venue where tables and chairs can be easily set up, with time and opportunities for advertising the event (TV, radio, newspapers, online), as well as logistical support. If you can’t readily find volunteers to help with your drive, SA4L can help provide trained volunteers to support you.

The more volunteer support we have, the better. Volunteers will have a range of tasks, including attending training, registering potential donors, educating registrants, and logistical support. We, along with staff from Canadian Blood Services, provide supervision, supplies, and letters of reference (for those of you looking to gain volunteer hours for work or school). Your community’s support and participation will ultimately make for a successful event.

Our past events have been ethnically and geographically diverse, extending not just around GTA, but across Canada. In the past 3 years, we have more than doubled the number of South Asians registered with the North American registries. What cannot be measured is the significant hope and sense of empowerment gained by patients and their families by participating in these events.
